My greater creation is still in the womb awaiting his moment...for a few more weeks anyway.
Until then, here's the flyer for my 2nd Saturday Art Show this weekend:
If you're near or in Sacramento, please come out!
I will try to get photos posted of the show set up and the newer pieces next!

A Quickie
This is just to drop notice of a current WIP that I was working on the other day. It isn't what I had originally planned for this piece, which I think makes it all that much more organic.

While watching SyFy...
We are marathoning all of our favorite episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation since they are on Instant Play on Netflix. I blame this for my inspiration of keeping myself busy while I watch. I decided to do something I haven't done in a while...actually draw. So I took out a permanent marker, some conte pencils and a couple of science-y books to see if there was any inspiration.
I ended up with a few dull pencils and some fun/colorful illustrations. I kind of want to do more now. . .
Can you tell from these close-ups what they are?
Okay, here's the full pictures and what they are:
Fun, no? Thank you Life Nature Library! I want to do a bunch of 'em just for fun. It's a good way to spend time while the Star Trek is going. Just so I can get some artistic nerdiness going on to join my other nerdiness. :o)

Next Step
Okay so now I have taken the collages and given them a layer of thinned (with gloss medium, as is my habit) paint layers over the entire piece to create a completely new look.
Here are the results:
After this I am to try to re-create these in varying sizes and differing materials. That may take me a while...we shall see.

Table of Snark & Craft Collages
Okay, so it took me longer than expected to get around to this, but here we are. here are the collages that I hastily put together while sitting with friends at the Open Mic. They're not completed per say. I still want to put a layer of paint on them, but I figured I would monitor progress here. The idea is that after the painting on them...I will paint renditions of them in larger format. We shall see how that works.
Until then, this is what I've got:
